Support for Families

Support that starts with understanding your child.

Children do not always have the words to explain what is happening inside. Worries may appear as tears, anger, avoidance, withdrawal, perfectionism or overwhelm. Helping Little Minds gives children a safe and playful space to understand their emotions and build practical coping tools.

When something feels difficult

Children may benefit from support with:

There does not need to be a diagnosis or a single clear reason for getting in touch. Support begins with what you and your child are noticing.

  • Anxiety and worries
  • Emotional regulation
  • Low confidence
  • School-related stress
  • Friendship difficulties
  • Resilience
  • Changes and transitions
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Negative self-talk
  • Understanding what is within their control

Active, creative and free from pressure

What sessions feel like

Sessions are fun, active and tailored to the child. They may include games, creative tasks, storytelling, reflection, physical activity, brain breaks and calming techniques.

The child should never feel as though they are being tested or interrogated. The goal is to create trust, encourage honest conversation and help each child discover strategies that genuinely work for them.

There is no test to pass and no right thing to say.

How support is shaped

Reassuring by design

Every part of coaching is intended to help a child feel secure, understood and able to take an active role in their progress.

01

Safe

Children are given time to settle, connect and be themselves.

02

Personal

Every session is shaped around the child’s personality and needs.

03

Practical

Children leave with tools they can use at home, at school and in daily life.

04

Collaborative

Parents are involved in understanding progress and the next steps.

A clear, gentle process

What happens next?

You will always know what is happening, why it matters and what the next step could be.

  1. 01

    Initial consultation

Hayley spends time getting to know your child, helping them feel at ease and beginning to see the world through their eyes. There is no pressure to share everything at once.

  2. 02

    Parent conversation

You share your child’s strengths, current challenges and anything important to their story. This helps Hayley understand the wider picture around home, school and everyday life.

  3. 03

    Personal plan

Hayley creates a tailored four- or eight-week coaching programme with realistic aims and an approach suited to your child’s personality, pace and needs.

  4. 04

    Child-centred sessions

Sessions use games, creative activities, storytelling, movement, reflection and practical strategies. Children can explore emotions without feeling tested or interrogated.

  5. 05

    Review and next steps

Progress is reviewed with you and your child. Together, you consider what has helped and whether graduation, further sessions or occasional check-ins would be most useful.

Flexible programme lengths

Four or eight weeks, with thoughtful next steps.

Families can choose a four- or eight-week coaching programme. Towards the end of the programme, progress is reviewed together. A child may then graduate, continue for further support or move to occasional monthly check-ins.

Please note: Helping Little Minds provides coaching and wellbeing support. It is not a replacement for emergency, medical, psychiatric or specialist clinical care.

A relaxed first step

Let’s talk about what your child needs.

Share what you have noticed, ask questions and get a feel for whether coaching could be the right support.
